As part of an assignment on cartography, we were asked to interpret any given place of our choice schematically on a map. I chose India's National Waterway #3 (West Coast Canal) as my subject. Certain considerations guided the design process of this map. Some of them being :
1. The map should be evocative of the place being depicted.
2. Every map created need not look like Google maps.
3. Use texture in addition to color to demarcate areas.
4. The map should give more information than just the places the waterway passes through.
